Balm box, a rucksack to counterbalance city living. 16 drawers, each with a label denoting particular herbs along with the medicinal or symbolic quality of that herb as it accords with vernacular culture. Inside each drawer are 4 paper pots filled with earth and the relevant herb seed.
The wearer of the rucksack invites people to open the drawer(s) that suit their needs and water the seeds. Once the drawer is opened, the herb is watered and the plant starts to grow, a type of ‘balm’ is applied to that person with the indication that the required healing may ensue.
